Duquesne Light Company and IBEW Local 29 Reach Contract Agreement
PITTSBURGH - Duquesne Light Company and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 29 reached a tentative agreement on a new four-year labor contract on September 30, 2019, which will cover the period of October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2023.
“We are proud that our positive working relationship with IBEW Local 29 enabled us to reach a fair and balanced agreement that was approved by the members,” said Todd Faulk, Vice President of Human Resources, Duquesne Light Company. “The new contract addresses key topics such as wages, retirement, workforce renewal and investment, while maintaining quality healthcare and benefit offerings at affordable levels and allowing the Company to manage costs and drive efficiency in several key areas.”
Terms of the agreement were approved by the IBEW Local 29 union members through a ratification vote on October 7, 2019.
“I want to thank both negotiating committees for their hard work at the bargaining table, which required both sides to make some difficult decisions,” said Kenn Bradley, Business Manager, IBEW 29. “In the end, it’s a fair contract that will enable us to continue to improve the day-to-day work of our members through our productive and open working relationship with management. I want to thank our members for their support during the negotiating process.”
