Customer-Owned Generation

Solar Energy Resource Hub
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) provides Pennsylvania residents and businesses with valuable resources including the benefits and costs of solar energy, financial incentives, and how to find qualified installers. 

PA DEP recently released its Solar for Schools Toolkit for Pennsylvania schools interested in solar energy. The Toolkit includes information on solar PV systems, the installation process, and financing options and incentives.

In line with our commitment to sustainability and clean energy, we have installed solar panels and a solar tree at our Woods Run campus in Pittsburgh's North Side. The 57.6 kWs of carbon-free electricity help power 20 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to accommodate DLC's growing electric fleet and employees who drive EVs. Learn more about DLC's solar installations.

Leading by Example: DLC's Electric Fleet and Workplace Charging

We're aiming to electrify 30% of our fleet by 2030, including 100% of our light duty vehicles. To support our growing electric fleet and employees driving electric, we're expanding workplace charging stations to many of our facilities

CLEAN ENERGY FUNDING

PA DEP Cooking in Healthy Electrified Commercial Kitchens (CHECK) Program
CHECK helps schools and nonprofits modernize their kitchens through energy efficiency and electrification. Entities can qualify for rebates up to $5,000 on a variety equipment to make their commercial kitchen a healthier and more environmentally friendly place. To qualify, eligible entities must attend an educational webinar about energy efficiency in commercial kitchens.

PA DEP Cooking in Healthy Electrified Commercial Kitchens (CHECK) Program

CHECK helps schools, nonprofits and restaurants modernize their kitchens through energy efficiency and electrification. Recordings of educational webinars are available and additional tools are available on the PA DEP’s CHECK webpage

Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)

DLC customers now have the opportunity to make their homes more energy efficient through new incentives under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Learn more about eligible projects and incentives available to market-rate and income-qualified households by visiting DLC’s IRA website.  

PA DEP Keystone Energy Efficiency Program (KEEP) Home Energy Loan

The KEEP Home Energy Loan helps Pennsylvania homeowners afford energy efficiency upgrades. Eligible projects are performed by pre-approved, qualified contractors. Loan amounts range from $2,500 to $25,000, and the program offers below-market interest rates. Qualifying projects include home heating and cooling, water heating, EV charging, insulation and more. PA DEP Municipal Opportunities for Retrofits and Energy Efficiency (MORE) Program

The MORE program offers funding to local governments to undertake energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in municipal buildings. MORE grants up to $50,000 are available by the PA DEP to eligible Pennsylvania local government entities. In addition, loans at below-market interest rates are available for energy efficiency upgrades, building retrofits and on-site renewable generation projects.
